Adoptable Greyhounds

Kindred Spirits adoptable greyhounds are fostered prior to re-homing. The first two weeks of the adoption process spent in your home are considered a trial period. If for any reason during these 2 weeks, you or Kindred Spirits Greyhound Adoption feel that the adoption is not a good match, the dog may be returned and your adoption fee will be returned to you. Our adoption fee is $250.00 which includes spay/neuter, Heartworm Test, Dental, DHLPP, Bordetella and 1 year Rabies vaccines, worming and a freshly bathed greyhound!!

The first step in our adoption process is to do your research. Read the information on our website, visit our links, and learn all that you can about retired racers. After you have educated yourself a little bit, then please print out one of our applications and send it to us.

Application

After we receive it, review it, and call your references, we will get in touch with you to set up a date for a home visit. At the time of the home visit we may (or may not depending on the availability of the foster family) bring along the dog that we feel will best fit your family.

Metz

Metz

Metz is a sweet happy lug of a dog with a wonderfully sunny personality. If any greyhound was ever born to be a therapy dog then Metz is it. He wants nothing more than to love and be loved. He will give kisses for hours if allowed to. He is living in a foster home with small animals and has proven to be excellent with children. Metz is one of those goofy boys who is just always happy and will lean on you for as long as you'll pet him. His foster Mom reports that he regularly gets stranded on the couch because he sleeps upside down then can't figure out how to get right side up again.

Major

Major

Major is a calm quiet somewhat aloof dog who loves going for walks. He is a very sweet boy but more reserved and timid than some. He prefers a quiet home with other quiet animals and would probably be just as happy as an only dog. Walks are the great joy of his life and he is looking for the perfect person to share them with. His foster Mom reports that he does not seem to like couches but would prefer a nice dog bed in a sunny corner of a room to spend his time on.

Dazzle

This sweet brood mama has really come out of her shell and what a sweetheart she is proving to be! She is a very affectionate, happy girl who loves to be a lap dog. She turned 7 in November but you'd never know it to see her in action. She has a lot of spunk left and is looking for someone to share it with. She likes walks, stuffed toys and a good run around the yard. She is living in a foster home with cats and small animals but under close supervision and would probably do best in a home with other dogs but not small critters. A structured environment with regular exercise or a home where she is not alone for long periods of time would be perfect for this little beauty.

Sydney

This charming beautiful gentleman has come to us all the way from the island of Guam. He is a little older (8) and needs a little time to recover from his experiences there, but has shown himself to be a sweet, quiet, loveable boy. Sydney is a very affectionate boy but would do best in a home with no small animals. Pictures do not do him justice. This prematurely grey boy is beautiful!

Mick

Having just turned three in August, Mick is a young hound with a lot of energy. He loves nylabones, squirrels and playtime, but also likes to have some quiet time to himself to sleep. He is affectionate and will put his head in your lap when he wants some cuddle time. Mick would like a home where he can get a lot of exercise and leash walks, but without small dogs or cats.
